March 7, 2024 marks our 6th UH Giving Day and the university's 97th birthday! UH Giving Day is a university-wide 24-hour philanthropic campaign that brings our University of Houston community (students, alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and more) together to show our collective Cougar spirit.

UH Giving Day will begin at 12:00 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2024, and will run until 11:59 PM on March 7.

Philanthropy is a critical part of the University of Houston’s success. It funds many scholarships for students who otherwise would not be able to attend college and supports the university’s top-notch faculty, state-of-the-art facilities and hands-on learning opportunities for students. Giving back is one of the greatest things we can do for our university and for future Cougars. Whether you can give $5 or $500, you make a difference.

EVERYONE can participate in Giving Day. Make a gift, in any amount, and/or become a Giving Day Influencer!

Click the "Make A Gift" button at the top of the website - www.allinforuh.com. The Giving Day website will track gifts in real time. You can see the progress of giving for each of the schools and units and various projects as well as updates for matches and challenges. Gifts made by other methods on Giving Day (by phone or mail) will count toward the day's totals, but only gifts made online count toward matching funds and challenges.

It’s up to you! You may designate your gift to any area of the university that is important to you. Whether your heart is with your college or school or you have an interest in a specific research initiative or student program at UH, you are free to choose what your gift supports. When you make your gift, you can select from a list of colleges, schools and units to show your support.

Matches are supported by key donors to multiply the impact of your gift. When you donate, the matching challenger will match it 1:1 up to the goal amount. For example, a $100 gift is actually worth $200 to the fund of your choice when there is a dollar-for-dollar match. We're making double the difference!

Challenges set goals based on a set of criteria and provide rewards for completion. For example, when a school reaches 50 gifts, $5,000 in additional funding will be awarded to the school.

Leaderboards will be visible on the Giving Day website during the 24-hour giving period. They provide a way to see results and compare progress toward match and challenge goals between participating groups during a set period of time.

Become a Giving Day Influencer! It is a great way to get involved and help spread the word!  You will be able to download a social media toolkit that you can use to share early and often on social media leading up to Giving Day, and especially throughout the day. There are prizes involved. Learn more here!

Spreading the word about UH Giving Day is key in making the 24-hour campaign a success. Talk about Giving Day to your friends, colleagues and anyone you think may be interested in supporting our students. Tell people why you think it's important to support UH!

Absolutely. UH Giving Day is integrated into the university's online giving platform that utilizes Touchnet which is PCI Level 1-compliant. When making a gift during UH Giving Day, you are just as secure as making an online gift to the University of Houston.
